The Plight of Pollinators

From bees and butterflies to beetles and bats, the actions of pollinators are critical to plants all over the world. Despite their importance, pollinators worldwide face many challenges that have led some, including the now-endangered Monarch Butterfly, to experience a steep decline in recent years. The Aquarium recently became a member of the new Association of Zoos and Aquariums Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) program to support the Monarch Butterfly, but our entomologist has a few suggestions for ways you can aid and entice Monarchs and other pollinators to your home!
